Steam injection heating is helpful in a variety of markets and industries, but each project is unique. At ProSonix, we've worked on projects of all sizes and levels of complexity. With that experience comes valuable knowledge. Our team is happy to share a few summaries from past projects which may help provide insight and ideas for your own application.
Boiler Feedwater
Power generating plants utilize steam boilers to produce electricity energy for their operation. These boilers often have feedwater heaters which are an integral part of the plant’s thermodynamic cycle. The presence of the heaters in the cycle improves the thermal efficiency of the power plant by lowering the amount of thermal energy required to generate a given amount of electrical by re-using produced steam in a heat exchanger to heat feedwater prior to the Deaerator.
CIP Clean in Place
Clean-in-place (CIP) is a method of cleaning the interior surfaces of pipes, vessels, process equipment, filters and associated fittings, without disassembly. The advent of CIP is critical to industries that need frequent internal cleaning of their processes. Industries that rely heavily on CIP are those requiring high levels of hygiene, and include: dairy, beverage, brewing, processed foods, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics.
Food Processing - Vegetable & Potato Blanching
Blanching processes will operate at temperatures of 190-205°F. Water is delivered to the blancher which in turn needs to be heated prior to processing the vegetables or potatoes in the blancher. Proper temperature control ensures processing optimization.
Food Processing - Meat & Processing
In the Food industry, processing of meats & poultry requires heat and significant amounts of hot water for many of the process & cleaning applications throughout the plant including de-hiding, carcass cleaning, equipment sanitizing, paw scalding, and wastewater processing.
