ProSonix recently shipped a PSX400 (4” Steam connection) J-Series Steam Jet Diffuser with modulating steam control to a food processing customer in the US. The inline heater was installed on a large 16” line and is used to reduce solids and maintain a constant slurry temperature of 96°F.
The anaerobic wastewater treatment process is designed to breakdown a biosolid slurry that is waste solids from the food processing. The slurry is recirculated from a very large anaerobic digestor through the heater. The heater maintains optimal temperature to allow bacteria to breakdown the solids and reduce the amount of waste sent to a landfill.
This approach eliminated the need for a large inline heat exchanger and provided significant cost savings for the customer.
